Aloha! Welcome to Ka Nai’a Outrigger Canoe Club of Santa Barbara, California!

Ka Nai'a is a local Santa Barbara club that trains on traditional Hawaiian style outrigger canoes.  We are an organization of amateur athletes with diverse abilities who represent our city, state and country by training for and participating in local, national and international outrigger competition.

Ka Nai'a (Hawaiian for "dolphin") was founded in 1988 and offers instruction, training, and recreation to members of the Santa Barbara community by a certified and extensively experienced coaching staff. New paddlers are given a general orientation to the sport and taught basic techniques, safety tips, as well as an experience of the marina they will not soon forget. For many beginners, Ka Nai’a is a first time exposure to outrigger canoeing, and many find it quite addicting.

OPEN HOUSE:

Come out and have fun! Learn paddling technique, meet new friends, and explore the Santa Barbara Coast in style! If you have any questions, contact Mike and Linda Ofner.

We will provide you with a paddle, all you need to bring are clothes you don't mind getting wet.  Friends, family, all ages and abilities welcome!
